Have you been in the comfort of your pillow and weighted blanket a bit too long with low energy, negative thought cycles, no motivation, poor self-care patterns, and heightened sensitivity to light, sound, and other people’s energy? You could be experiencing what is referred to as… BURNOUT.

I was there, not long ago. I didn’t understand what I was going through. The typical overachieving perfectionist, model employee gig was now being served a glass of water next to a body that was sinking back into bed.

I had no idea where this new lack of energy was coming from. I was used to dissociating my way to the top until my body gradually stood up for itself and said, “No.” Lay the F* down and rest. I didn’t know what rest was.

I couldn’t even allow myself to step away from productivity without personally shaming myself and feeling behind. Unable to even take a breath, I leaned into Self-betraying habits of overworking. Now I was looking at a whole year and half + behind. I took so long to even ask for help or realize that my problem was, me. “Alexa, play Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift.”

I later found help in weekly CBT/DBT therapy (that I was able to get through state medical aid, thanks America.) I…
